Canon India has launched the Camera Colour Matching Application PC app, designed to tackle the challenges of colour consistency in multi-camera setups.
The application functions by synchronizing the colour tones between a primary camera and the Canon 4K remote camera utilized as a secondary unit. This feature is particularly advantageous given the increasing demand for video content, which has led to more single-operator, multi-camera shoots where manual colour matching resources are scarce.
With this app, users can efficiently align the colour and brightness of images from different cameras. The process is straightforward: users take a photo of a colour chart with both cameras, and then the app generates a 3D LUT (Look-Up Table) which is applied to the cameras to ensure colour consistency.
Canon states that this tool dramatically cuts down the time previously needed for manual adjustments, which could extend over several hours. This is especially beneficial for live broadcasts requiring immediate colour correction. For pre-recorded content such as dramas or reality shows, the app minimizes post-production efforts by achieving precise colour matching during filming.

- Colour Chart Compatibility – Supports square charts with 2 to 15 colours per side (up to 140 colours).
- Fine-Tuning – Allows manual selection of three frame areas for precise adjustments.
- 3D LUT Simulation – Preview LUT effects with image, waveform monitor, and vector scope.
- LUT Import via IP – Transfer 3D LUT directly to the camera over an IP connection.
- LUT Export – Save LUTs as files on PC for future use.
- Supported Image Formats – BMP, TIF, PNG, JPG.
Availability and Compatibility
- The app is compatible with Windows 11 and Windows 10 (64-bit versions).

Speaking about the launch, Bhasker Chander Joshi, Assistant Director, Frontier Business Division, Canon India, commented,
The broadcast industry is evolving towards single-operator, multi-camera setups due to efficiency needs and resource limitations. Our new Camera Colour Matching Application is a step forward in simplifying video production workflows—what once took hours of professional setup can now be done in minutes by a single operator.
Users can capture broadcasts with multiple cameras featuring different colour ranges, and our app seamlessly aligns the colours between the main and Canon remote cameras. This ensures faster setup, reduced costs, and consistent quality. Designed to meet the diverse needs of educational institutions, corporate environments, places of worship, and coaching centers, we aim to make remote production more intuitive, efficient, and accessible than ever before.
