MiPhi Semiconductors has introduced the Storm 1100X External SSD, a product from its joint venture between Micromax Informatics and Phison Technology.
The Storm 1100X offers sequential read speeds of 1100 MB/s and write speeds of 1000 MB/s, providing rapid data transfers for efficient productivity. It utilizes USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C technology, which supports high-speed transfers up to 10Gbps.
This SSD is also backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1, ensuring it works well with various devices. Built for durability, the Storm 1100X has a robust metal body with 2-meter drop protection.
It includes LDPC ECC for error correction and a thermal sensor for temperature management, maintaining reliability under heavy workloads. The SSD supports:
- Windows XP and later
- Mac OS 10.8 and later
- Linux kernel 2.4.10 and later
It comes in capacities up to 2TB, using high-performance TLC and QLC NAND flash memory. It operates in temperatures from 0 to 70°C, can be stored in conditions from -40 to 85°C, and handles humidity from 20% to 90%. MiPhi provides a 5-year warranty for this SSD.
