HP acquires Humane AI assets in a $116 million deal

HP on Tuesday announced a definitive agreement to acquire key AI capabilities from Humane. This includes their AI-powered platform, Cosmos, along with significant technical talent and intellectual property, comprising over 300 patents and patent applications.

This move is set to transform HP into a more experience-focused enterprise. The acquisition will integrate Humane’s engineers, architects, and product innovators into HP’s Technology and Innovation Organization, creating a new AI lab named HP IQ. This lab will focus on developing an intelligent ecosystem for HP’s products and services, tailored for the future of work.

Tuan Tran, President of Technology and Innovation at HP, stated, “This investment will rapidly accelerate our ability to develop a new generation of devices that seamlessly orchestrate AI requests both locally and in the cloud.”

He further emphasized HP’s commitment to using technology to redefine work, providing tools that help organizations and employees excel in a rapidly changing world.
