Samsung India today introduced the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD, the latest addition to its consumer SSD lineup, designed to elevate storage performance for a wide range of users.
Leveraging a PCIe 5.0 interface, the 9100 PRO achieves sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s. This represents a significant 99% performance increase compared to the previous generation 990 PRO.
Furthermore, the SSD delivers random read speeds of 2,200K IOPS and write speeds of 2,600K IOPS, ensuring efficient multitasking and accelerated data processing. Its compatibility with laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles facilitates seamless system upgrades.
A key feature of the 9100 PRO is its enhanced thermal management system, which improves power efficiency by 49% over earlier models. The SSD incorporates an integrated 8.8mm heat sink for the 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models, and an 11.25mm heat sink for the 8TB variant, maintaining optimal performance without thermal throttling.
Notably, the 8TB model marks the introduction of Samsung’s first consumer NVMe SSD at this capacity, offering substantial storage for demanding applications such as gaming, content creation, and professional workflows.
The 9100 PRO also includes Samsung Magician software, providing users with optimization tools, data migration capabilities, and advanced security features to enhance functionality and ensure long-term data integrity.

Pricing and Availability
The Samsung 9100 PRO will be available globally in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities, with the following initial pricing for India:
- 1TB: Rs. 14,999
- 2TB: Rs. 25,499
- 4TB: Rs. 49,999
The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models are scheduled for release on March 18, 2025. The 8TB variant is expected to launch in the second half of 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to its release date.
