Micromax Informatics has announced its entry into the renewable energy sector with the launch of “Startup Energy.” This initiative focuses on the domestic manufacturing of solar panels, aligning with India’s national clean energy objectives.
Startup Energy intends to produce high-efficiency solar panels for residential, commercial, and industrial use. The company has entered into a strategic agreement with China’s Jinchen for the phased deployment of a 5GW advanced solar module manufacturing line. This project will utilize automation and high-efficiency module production technologies.
The partnership with Jinchen is designed to leverage their manufacturing expertise, while Micromax will apply its experience in scaling technology-driven innovations. This move responds to the growing demand for domestically produced solar panels in India. As of 2023, India’s installed solar capacity exceeded 72 GW, with a national target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
To support its manufacturing goals, Startup Energy plans to establish a manufacturing facility incorporating automation and precision engineering. The company also intends to pursue research and development partnerships for the development of advanced solar technologies.
Micromax’s involvement in solar panel manufacturing reflects the company’s diversification into renewable energy. The company aims to contribute to India’s renewable energy targets and participate in the global shift towards carbon neutrality.
