Xiaomi today launched the 2025 REDMI Book Pro 16 and REDMI Book Pro 14 laptops in China, alongside the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone. These devices bring updated features and strong specs for users in the home market.
REDMI Book Pro 14 and Book Pro 16 (2025)
The REDMI Book Pro 16 features a sleek metal body, 15.9 mm thin, and weighs about 1.88 kg. The REDMI Book Pro 14 matches the 15.9 mm thickness but is lighter at around 1.45 kg. Both are simple yet stylish, with sturdy screen frames and lay-flat hinges for flexible use. The metal feels smooth and skin-friendly, according to Xiaomi.
The REDMI Book Pro 16 has a 3.1K LCD screen (3072×1920) with 500 nits brightness, 165Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The REDMI Book Pro 14 offers a 2.8K screen (2880×1800) with 500 nits brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB coverage. Both have VESA HDR 400 certification and Delta E ≈ 0.33 for accurate colors.
They include TÜV Rheinland-certified eye protection modes (low blue light ID 6217008752, flicker-free ID 0217008731) and the China Quality Certification Center’s S++ visual health rating. Meeting standards from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Sun Yat-sen University Zhongshan Eye Center, they support eye protection, e-book, programming modes, multi-screen color matching (Pro 16 only), and AI brightness adjustment.
Both laptops run Windows 11 (Chinese version) and use second-generation Intel Core Ultra processors:
- Intel Ultra 7 255H: 16 cores, 5.1GHz max speed, 8Xe Intel Arc Graphics, 24MB cache, 16 threads.
- Intel Ultra 5 225H: 14 cores, 4.9GHz max speed, 7Xe Intel Arc Graphics, 18MB cache, 14 threads.
For the Pro 16, single-core performance rises 21.6%, and multi-core increases 29.5% over the 2024 model. The Pro 14 sees an 18.5% single-core boost and 28.2% multi-core improvement. Both offer 32GB LPDDR5X memory at 8400MT/s (16.9% faster write speed for Pro 16, 20.3% for Pro 14) and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with an extra M.2 slot.
Compared to the 2024 model, single-core performance rises by 21.6%, and multi-core performance increases by 29.5%. It comes with 32GB LPDDR5X memory at 8400MT/s (offering a 16.9% faster write speed) and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, plus an extra M.2 slot for additional storage.
The REDMI Book Pro 16 has a 99Wh battery, lasting up to 30 hours, and charges to 54% in 30 minutes with a 140W GaN USB-C adapter, supporting 120W phone charging. The REDMI Book Pro 14 has an 80Wh battery, lasting 31 hours, with a 100W GaN adapter charging to 51% in 30 minutes and supporting 55W phone charging. Both include smart charging modes to extend battery life.
Both use the “Hurricane Cooling” system with dual 12V fans (200 blades) and thermal grease at 8.5W/M.K conductivity (63.4% better than last year). The Pro 16 has three heat pipes (8mm+6mm+6mm), 6400 rpm max fan speed, 34.4% better heat dissipation, 6.7% more air volume, and supports 80W performance. The Pro 14 has two heat pipes (8mm+6mm), 6600 rpm max fan speed, 10.8% better heat dissipation, 3.6% more air volume, and supports 70W performance.
Both laptops feature Thunderbolt 4, a full-featured USB-C port, HDMI 2.1 TMDS, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Pro 16 adds Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2 explicitly noted.
AI and Other Features
The Xiaomi AIPC engine powers AI features on both. The Pro 16 offers up to 96 TOPS AI computing power, boosting large model performance (8 billion parameters) by 204% and local image tasks by 124%. The Pro 14 also hits 96 TOPS, with 211% large model and 131% image improvements.
Both support smart performance modes (silent, smart, berserk, power-saving, extreme speed). The Pro 16 speeds up WPS file opening by 26.09% and Premiere Pro exports by 28.2%, while the Pro 14 boosts Jianying video exports by 20%, Premiere Pro by 20.86%, and WeChat video battery life by 9.5%.
- Xiaoai assistant handles voice commands (e.g., “open apps”), translates documents (e.g., “Help me translate my paper”), and answers screenshot questions.
- HyperConnect enables cross-device sharing, including with Apple devices. Both include a 1.3mm key-travel keyboard with auto-brightness, a fingerprint power button, a large touchpad, dual speakers with Dolby Vision and Atmos, and a 1080P camera.
