HMD and FC Barcelona have announced a collaboration resulting in two new mobile devices: the HMD Barça 3210 and the HMD Barça Fusion at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
HMD Barça 3210
The HMD Barça 3210 is a feature phone designed to minimize distractions during sporting events. HMD positions the device as the “Tiki-Taka of phones – simple, efficient and smooth.” It omits social media applications and features a design reminiscent of the classic Nokia 3210.
The device is available in the Club colors of Blau and Grana, and includes pre-loaded FC Barcelona-themed wallpapers, a customized user interface, and a version of the “Snake” game featuring FC Barcelona elements played on a digital pitch.
It also features hidden audio messages from FC Barcelona players. Technical specifications include a 2MP camera, 4G connectivity, a 1450 mAh battery, and IP54 splash protection. HMD emphasizes the device’s focus on essential communication, highlighting its long battery life and lack of social media access.
Building on the sell-out success of the reintroduced 3210 for its 25th anniversary, the nostalgic trend continues into 2025, as consumers increasingly gravitate towards retro products.
HMD Barça Fusion
The HMD Barça Fusion is a Collector’s Edition smartphone that includes a “Smart Outfit,” a protective case engraved with the signatures of 11 FC Barcelona players. These signatures are luminescent under UV light. The device comes pre-loaded with FC Barcelona-themed visuals, audio greetings, and alarm sounds, featuring players such as Lewandowski, De Jong, Eric Garcia, Fermín López, Gavi, and Íñigo Martínez.
The device also includes the official FC Barcelona application. The HMD Fusion features a modular design, allowing users to attach different “Smart Outfits” that provide additional functionality, such as a ring light for selfies, gaming controls, or enhanced durability.
The HMD Fusion’s core features include a 108MP dual camera, a 50MP front-facing camera with gesture and slow-motion capabilities, 5G connectivity, and a “detox mode” that allows users to disable notifications. HMD also highlights the device’s repairability, mentioning iFixit support for home repairs.
HMD positions the partnership as a reflection of both brands’ focus on living in the moment. The company highlights its growth in the feature phone market, attributing it to increasing consumer interest in devices that limit digital distractions.
Pricing and availability
The HMD Barça 3210 costs 79 GBP (USD 99 / Rs. 8,690 approx.) and the Barça Fusion costs 229 GBP (USD 288 / Rs. 25,185 approx.) and will roll out soon.
