So I was going through all the posts related to the surprise which nVIDIA dropped yesterday that the ASUS eee pad Transformer Prime will be receiving Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update on the same day in the U.S, and saw a comment from ASUS Singapore’s official Facebook page saying that the Transformer TF101 will receive the latest Android 4.0 update tomorrow.
As you can see in the above image a guy wrote on ASUS Singaopre’s wall about the Transformer Prime Android 4.0 update rolling out and when the Primes in Singapore will receive it, ASUS confirmed that Singapore will be receiving the update on Jan 12th, but with that they also answered to someone’s query that the original transformer which is the TF101 will be getting an update tomorrow.
Well this is real great news, I myself own the Transformer TF101 and am excited to see what the update carries, I have always been talking about ASUS being the best Android manufacturer out there because of their update frequency and quality of the devices, if we receive that update tomorrow, then they will prove that once again. Hope this was not a typing error and the TF101 really gets the update. We will be doing a quick review of it once it is available.
Update: ASUS Singapore has now updated their Facebook saying that the information about Transformer TF101 getting the Android 4.0 update was a mistake as the update has to be approved by Google and then it can be pushed as an OTA, hence the update will come to all the transformers by the end of this month. This is what they had to say;
“Dear all members, please kindly note that we have just received information from HQ that for TF101 update to ICS, as all has to be approved by Google, thus estimated availability to update to ICS will be around end of this month. Apologies for the error earlier. Thanks for your kind understanding.”
