Samsung Electronics today announced that the official rollout of One UI 7 will commence on April 7. The update introduces a bold design tailored for greater personalization and control, while also enhancing the user experience with a “new interface built for AI,” the company noted.
Key Highlights of One UI 7
Revamped Design for Enhanced Personalization
One UI 7 offers a clean, emotive, and streamlined design for Galaxy users. Features such as a simplified home screen, redesigned One UI widgets, and a reimagined lock screen provide intuitive and seamless customization options.
For added convenience, the “Now Bar” displays real-time updates directly on the lock screen. During activities like a morning run, users can easily check their progress or see what’s playing on their Galaxy Buds—all with a quick swipe, without unlocking the device.
AI-Powered Features for Intuitive Interaction
One UI 7 introduces smart AI tools that simplify everyday tasks and foster creativity. For instance, AI Select analyzes context and offers relevant suggestions. Users can swipe the Edge Panel, tap the AI Select icon, and save a video as a GIF file. Writing Assist helps with summarizing or automatically formatting text.
- Enhanced creative control is provided with features like Drawing Assist, which supports multiple inputs such as text prompts, images, and sketches, and Audio Eraser, which removes unwanted noise by isolating sound categories in videos.
- Integration with Google Gemini makes device control more seamless. Users can long-press the side button and say, “Find Italian, pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating nearby,” to instantly receive recommendations.
Furthermore, natural language search simplifies navigation in Settings. For example, users can say, “My eyes are feeling tired,” and options such as adjusting brightness or enabling Eye Comfort Shield are immediately suggested.
Availability
One UI 7 will begin rolling out on April 7 and will gradually expand to a wide range of Galaxy devices.
This includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and more in the weeks following the launch.
