POCO F7 series global launch event set for March 27

POCO has confirmed the launch of POCO F7 series smartphone for the global markets in an event in Singapore on March. The company will introduce the POCO F7 Pro and POCO F7 Ultra smartphones at the event, and the image shows both the phones.

Based on earlier rumors, the POCO F7 Pro will be a rebranded version of the REDMI K80 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, but with a smaller 6000mAh battery, and the POCO F7 Ultra is expected to be rebranded REDMI K80 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite, but with a smaller 5300mAh battery for the global markets, while retaining 90W (F7 Pro) / 120W wired + 50W wireless (F7 Ultra) fast charging.

However, POCO India head Himanshu Tandon recently said that the company prefers higher battery capacity, so India might get the same battery capacity as China, which is 6550mAh for the K80 / F7 Pro and 6000mAh for the K80 Pro / F7 Ultra.

The phones should pack 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED flat screen with peak brightness of up to 3200 nits, 120Hz refresh rate. The F7 Pro will come with triple rear cameras with a 50MP 1/1.55″ Light Fusion 800 sensor with OIS, Xiaomi AISP 2.0, 13.2EV movie-level high dynamic range, 32MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto camera with 10cm macro option.

The F7 Ultra should pack the same main camera with OIS along with a 8MP ultra-wide camera. These should come with IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance with 12GB / 16GB RAM and 256GB / 512GB options.

POCO is also said to be working on the POCO F7 model with the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite chip that will launch later. Should know more details in the coming days.
