Gmail gets AI-powered ‘Most Relevant’ search to find emails faster

Google is introducing a smarter AI-powered search feature in Gmail to help users find the most relevant emails quickly, the company announced.

According to the announcement, the updated search results in Gmail move beyond simply showing emails in chronological order based on keywords. Instead, the feature now factors in additional elements such as recency, the most-clicked emails, and frequent contacts.

Google emphasized that this improvement makes it more likely for the emails you’re searching for to appear at the “top of your search results,” saving time and enabling quicker access to important information.

Once available, users can toggle between “most relevant” and “most recent” search results.

Availability

The “most relevant” search results are rolling out globally for users with personal Google accounts. The feature can be accessed both on the web and in the Gmail app for Android and iOS. Google also noted that this feature would be expanded to business users in the future.
