Samsung 2025 Odyssey gaming monitors and ViewFinity S8 start rolling out

Samsung Electronics today expanded its monitor line-up with the 2025 Odyssey gaming series and the ViewFinity S8. The Odyssey range includes the Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey G9, alongside the new ViewFinity S8.

Odyssey 3D (G90XF)

The Odyssey 3D (G90XF), a 27-inch monitor, introduces glasses-free 3D gaming. It uses advanced eye-tracking technology and a lenticular lens to create a clear, high-definition 3D image through the Reality Hub app. This enhances immersion in games and videos.

Samsung is partnering with Nexon for “The First Berserker: Khazan,” launching March 28, and Neowiz for “Lies of P,” with its “Overture” DLC set for summer release. These collaborations give developers precise control over 3D effects, with plans to add more global studio partnerships. The monitor also features AI video conversion, turning compatible content into 3D with reduced eye strain.

It offers a 4K display, 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms Gray-to-Gray (GtG) response time, and supports AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible for smooth gameplay. Edge Lighting syncs colors under the monitor with the screen, enhancing the 3D experience.

Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF)

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) comes in 27-inch and 32-inch models. The 27-inch version features 166 pixels-per-inch—the highest pixel density for its size—and is the industry’s first 4K monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. Both sizes use QD-OLED technology for sharp details, vivid colors, and high contrast from any angle, certified by VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 at 250nit brightness.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL)-certified Glare Free technology reduces reflections. Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ includes a Dynamic Cooling System with a Pulsating Heat Pipe, dissipating heat five times better than graphite sheets to prevent burn-in without dimming brightness.

It delivers a .03ms GtG response time, 240Hz refresh rate, and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible. The slim metal design features Core Lighting+ and an ergonomic stand for easy setup.

Odyssey G9 (G91F)

The Odyssey G9 (G91F), a 49-inch ultrawide monitor, offers a Dual QHD display with a 1000R curve. It features a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for fluid gameplay without tearing. VESA DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+ GAMING optimize brightness, contrast, and color range.

Multitasking is seamless with Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture modes, allowing two devices to display simultaneously, with flexible sizing in Picture-in-Picture. Auto Source Switch+ detects and shows connected devices instantly when powered on.

ViewFinity S8 (S80UD)

The ViewFinity S8 (S80UD), a 37-inch 4K monitor, is the largest 16:9 Samsung monitor yet, about 34% bigger than its predecessor. It supports HDR10 and displays 1 billion colors for professional work.

TÜV Rheinland certifies its ergonomic design and Intelligent Eye Care for comfort. It includes a 90W USB-C port and a KVM switch for controlling multiple inputs with one keyboard, video, and mouse setup, blending work and leisure connectivity.

Pre-orders for the Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey G9 begin today in select countries, with pricing to be announced soon.

Speaking about the launch, Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said,

At Samsung, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge display technology that elevates the gaming experience. The new Odyssey monitors mark a significant leap in innovation, visual quality, and performance, enabling gamers to immerse themselves fully and play at their peak.
