Nothing has announced Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition that will let the community co-develop an ultimate version of Phone (3a) brining their ideas to life across hardware design, accessory design, software design and marketing campaign.
This year, winners will also receive a £1,000 (Rs. 1,10,430 approx.) cash prize, providing an added incentive for talented individuals and teams to showcase their skills, the company added.
Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition with glow-in-the-dark rear design was launched last year as a result of the company’s first Community Edition project, which ran for 6 months. This time, the project runs for only 1 month and all the briefs are being released at the same time.
The four stages for the Community Edition Project 2025 include:
- Hardware Design
- Developing a fresh look and feel of Phone (3a)
- Accessory Design
- The creation of an exclusive collectable or accessory to ship with Phone (3a) Community Edition
- Software Design
- UI elements that make the on-screen experience as unique as the hardware design, such as a wallpaper series, widget, clock icon pack etc.
- Marketing Campaign
- A creative proposal that informs creative deliverables such as key visuals, a launch moment or an event
You can sign up on the Nothing website starting from today, March 26th until April 23rd to submit your ideas for the project. Once the submission window closes in April, Nothing will open the community voting for just 24 hours, before the internal juries selects their winners.
Spanning across hardware, wallpapers, accessories and marketing, winners of each brief will have the chance to collaborate directly with the Nothing team to help bring their creations to life. Nothing confirmed that the final product will arrive only later this year.
