Canon India today expanded its offerings with the launch of the EOS R50 V camera and two new lenses: the RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ and the RF 20mm F1.4L VCM.
The EOS R50 V marks the debut of Canon’s video-focused EOS V-series, designed to meet the needs of modern content creators, paired with the RF-S 14-30mm lens, it simplifies video production by enabling easy switches between shooting styles, the company said.
EOS R50 V: Video-Centric Camera
The EOS R50 V emphasizes video with a lightweight, viewfinder-free design, weighing under a pound (approximately 454g), stated Canon. Its compact body fits grips and gimbals, easing fatigue during long shoots. Built for vertical filming, it includes a side tripod socket, auto-rotating display, and a grip-friendly button layout.
A new video-focused control setup features a movie mode dial and one-touch buttons for livestreaming and color modes. It uses Canon’s RF mount, supporting over 45 lenses, and a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, akin to the Super 35mm in the EOS C70.

The RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ, Canon’s first RF lens with built-in power zoom, measures 6cm and weighs 181g. Users can control servo zooming via the lens’ zoom ring or the EOS R50 V’s zoom lever, with 15 speed settings across a 2-level switch, customizable separately.
Remote zooming works through the Camera Connect app. Its fixed-length design ensures gimbal stability, offering 5 stops of stabilization for stills and 5-axis for video, enhanced by Coordinated Control IS with In-Body IS cameras.

At 99.3mm long and 519g, it pairs a 20mm focal length with an f/1.4 aperture in a durable, compact body, ideal for low-light shots like architecture or astrophotography. It features a 67mm front filter thread and a rear filter holder to reduce distortion.
