Qualcomm just scheduled an event in China on April 2nd where it will introduce the company’s flagship chip. This should be the rumored Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with the model number SM8735 is said to use 1+3+2+2 architecture instead of custom 2+6 Oryon Cores in the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The specs include 1 x 3.21GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, 3 x 3.01GHz Cortex-A720 + 2 x 2.80GHz Cortex-A720 performance cores, and 2 x 2.02GHz Cortex-A720 efficiency cores.
The SoC is said to use Adreno 825 GPU with the same generation as the Adreno 830 GPU in the 8 Elite, but with fewer cores, SLC 6MB, L3 8MB. AnTuTu score will be 2 million +.
New phones from several manufacturers are expected to be released in mid-April, and the partnerships should be announced at the event. Based on earlier rumours, iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and REDMI Turbo 4 Pro (POCO F7 for global markets) should be the first set of phones to use the chip. Xiaomi Civi5 Pro and OPPO K13 Pro are also expected to use the chip.
