YouTube on Thursday announced the addition of five new tools designed to enhance video creation for Shorts creators. Vadim Lavrusik, Group Product Manager for YouTube Shorts Creation, described the updates as “more fun and easy ways to get started.”
New YouTube Shorts Creation Tools
Upgraded Video Editor: Creators can make precise timing adjustments with features like zooming and snapping. The editor allows rearranging or deleting clips for rough cuts, adding music or timed text, and previewing Shorts to refine storytelling. Lavrusik mentioned that these enhancements are the first step in a series of planned updates to streamline in-app editing.
Automatic Beat-Syncing: This tool simplifies syncing clips with the rhythm of a chosen song, removing the need for manual adjustments and enabling seamless rhythm-driven video creation.
Improved Templates: Templates now support photo integration directly from a user’s gallery, with effects to be added soon. The feature also ensures automatic attribution to the original creator when templates are used.
Image Stickers: Creators will soon have the ability to add stickers from their gallery directly into Shorts, offering a unique way to personalize content.
AI-Generated Stickers: This tool allows users to create stickers using simple text prompts, providing customized options to express individuality in content creation.
Rollout Schedule
Availability-wise, these tools could begin rolling out as early as this month and will be fully available on YouTube Shorts this spring.
