vivo T4 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


vivo just launched the T4 5G smartphone in the T series in India, as the successor to last year’s T3 5G. This gets a brighter curved display, a bigger battery, and faster charging. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The vivo T4 sports a 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display is bright since it has up to 1300 nits outdoor brightness in HBM, and 5000 nits peak brightness, and the sunlight legibility is good as well. There is SCHOTT Xensation Up glass protection. There is 3840Hz PWM Dimming

It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 32-megapixel autofocus camera. The earpiece is present on the top edge, but it doesn’t double up as a secondary speaker. The phone has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. The bottom bezels are minimal.

The vivo T4 5G is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, compared to Dimensity 7200 in the predecessor. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and supports 5G SA/NSA with several bands. It runs Android 15 with FuntouchOS 15 on top, and the company has promised 2 Android updates and 3 years of security updates.

The phone has a power button and volume rockers on the right side. The dual SIM slots, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top. The IR Blaster is actually present on the back of the camera deco.

The phone has dual rear cameras that include a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX882 1/1.95″ sensor, OIS and 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone has aura light as well.

It can record videos at 4k resolution at up to 30 fps from the front and rear cameras. It has standard and ultra stabilization, but the resolution is down to 1080p in ultra option since it crops the content. OIS does a good job in stabilization.

The phone has a matte finish on the plastic back, comes with IP65 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone is just 7.89mm thick and weighs 199 grams, even though it packs a huge 7300mAh battery compared to 5000mAh in the predecessor.

Priced starting at Rs. 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, the phone will be available from Flipkart, vivo.com and offline stores starting from April 29th at 12 noon. With bank offers, the effective starting price if Rs. 19,999.
