DeperAI, a relatively new entrant in the advanced charging technology sector founded by former OnePlus executive Jim Zhang, is accelerating its expansion in the Indian market through key leadership appointments and strategic collaborations.
New DeperAI India CEO
The company has announced the appointment of Prabhjot Singh Malik as its Chief Executive Officer for India operations, effective immediately.
Prabhjot Singh Malik brings considerable experience in India’s consumer electronics and mobile technology sectors to his new role. As the successor of MSM Group, a long-term distribution partner for OPPO and OnePlus in India, he has played a significant role in developing and scaling retail strategies for prominent smartphone brands.
His current responsibilities include overseeing a network of exclusive OnePlus retail stores and service centers. Furthermore, he has previously served as a PAN India distributor for OPPO and OnePlus across major large-format retail chains such as Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, and Croma.
Beyond his involvement in the mobile industry, Mr. Malik was also instrumental in introducing the UK-based health supplement brand MyProtein to the Indian market, establishing both online and offline distribution networks. His professional background also encompasses international logistics and market expansion across regions including Dubai, Vietnam, the UK, and China.
DeperAI partners with Flipkart and Croma
Building upon existing collaborations with Amazon and Reliance Digital, DeperAI’s newly established partnerships with Flipkart and Croma represent a significant step in its omnichannel strategy.
The company’s flagship Superpower 65W Adapter, featuring UFCS Fusion Fast Charging Technology, is now available across a wider range of platforms, including 4457 Croma stores, Flipkart, Amazon, and Reliance Digital outlets. DeperAI reports strong initial demand for the product, with daily sales reaching 1,000 units.
This intensified retail push is supported by DeperAI’s focus on product innovation and its alliances with leading platforms, with the aim of establishing itself as India’s leading fast-charging brand. The company offers a two-year warranty and emphasizes universal compatibility across major fast-charging protocols for its products.
Looking ahead, DeperAI intends to diversify its product portfolio to include AI-integrated charging solutions and wireless chargers. This expansion will be supported by its manufacturing partnership with Caria Factory in Noida, which also supplies chargers for OPPO.
Commenting on the announcement, Jim Zhang, Founder of DeperAI, said:
India is one of the most dynamic and promising markets for tech innovation. With our foundations laid, it’s time to accelerate. Prabhjot’s deep knowledge of the Indian market, his retail acumen, and passion for tech make him the perfect fit to lead DeperAI into its next phase of growth.
