nubia today introduced the Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition, the company’s latest smartphone in the Chinese market, as it had promised. The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, offers up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It offers nubia’s first kilometer-level real-time offline call.
The main highlight of the phone is the camera, since this uses OmniVision’s customized 50-megapixel sensor, the Light and Shadow Master 990. The sensor has a native 35mm focal length and uses horizontal/vertical four-phase autofocus technology.
In addition to the main camera, the Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition is equipped with a 64-megapixel 1/2″ periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with macro support, and is equipped with a physical shutter button offering half-press to focus, long press to shoot.
Nubia has customized a professional photography kit that includes a mobile phone case that supports a T-mount adapter, adapter ring that supports standard 67mm filters, so users can add ND filters or polarizers to their phone lenses.
The kit can also be carried with a shoulder strap, magnetic suction function, and provides a 1/4 thread interface for tripod adapter.
At the event, nubia also showcased an interchangeable lens set for the 35mm main camera. The company has collaborated with Fotogear to develop five T-mount external lenses : a fisheye lens, a macro lens, a 139mm telephoto lens, and a 400mm super telephoto lens. Users can use external lenses to expand the focal length of the main camera.
The phone feature a 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED BOE Q9+ screen a refresh rate of up to 144Hz refresh rate, screen-to-body ratio of 95.3%, peak brightness of 2000 nits, and support up to 2592Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming, similar to the nubia Z70 Ultra.
The phone has IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and packs a 6600mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
