Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the launch of its 5G services in Chandigarh and Patna starting today, April 28, 2025. The company launched its 5G services in Mumbai last month, where over 70% of eligible users are experiencing Vi 5G, contributing up to 20% of total network data traffic, said the company.
Earlier this month, the company rolled out 5G to major cricket stadiums in 11 cities across India.
An introductory offer of unlimited 5G data is available to Vi subscribers on plans starting from Rs. 299, and offers unlimited 5G data, 1GB of 4G data, unlimited calls and 100 SMS/Day.
The rollout in these circles will continue, aligned with the growth in 5G handset penetration and demand for the service, said the company.
For the network deployment in Chandigarh and Patna, Vi has partnered with Samsung. The infrastructure implemented includes energy-efficient solutions and vRAN technology, aimed at improving network flexibility and performance. Furthermore, the company has deployed an AI-based Self-Organizing Network (SON) system to optimize network performance.
Vi stated its commitment to building a future-ready network designed to be seamless, powerful, and capable of meeting evolving connectivity demands.
The company believes that by expanding its 5G infrastructure and bringing this advanced connectivity to more customers, it will contribute to the transformation of India’s digital landscape, supporting both consumers and businesses with enhanced mobile applications and services.
Vi has announced that the rollout will soon expand to Delhi and Bengaluru in May 2025.
