Sony has announced that they have started rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Tablet S as they promised last month. The latest update brings single motion panorama photo mode, direct SD card access, New Home Screen actions and more.
New features in Android 4.0 for Sony Tablet S
- Enhanced lock screen – Direct access to Notifications, Unlock direct to camera
- New panoramic camera mode
- Enhanced Gallery media viewer – Direct SD card access + photo editing tools
- Exclusive “Small Apps’ for multi-tasking – Calculator, Browser, Remote Control, Move to screen edge for reduced clutter
- New Home Screen actions – Drag icons together to create folders, Add names to folders
- Enhanced web browser – Switch from mobile to desktop web sites, Save pages for offline viewing
- Access files directly from SD card
- Native screenshot capture – Press “power” and “Volume –“

They have also reduced the price of the Sony Tablet S 16GB and 32GB variants in the U.S. to $349 and $449 respectively, and also offer $50 instant rebate and free cradle if you purchase it within May 12.
Sony says you will get a notification for the system (Android 4.0) update when you connect that tablet to a wireless network, you need to just click OK to download it. There are no details whether this is rolling out only in the US or globally.
