YouTube Music is beginning to roll out labels to identify songs created primarily using generative AI. The labels will also expand to the main YouTube app. YouTube has previously introduced more visible AI disclosure labels for videos and Shorts to make AI-related disclosures easier to find.
YouTube Music adds AI labels to the player
The labels will appear directly on the YouTube Music player page when generative AI has played a significant role in creating a track, such as generating its composition and vocals. Tapping a label opens a menu with additional information about the music.
YouTube is working with music partners and using its own detection tools to identify AI-generated tracks. The company will apply the same labeling principles already used across YouTube.
