Homegrown consumer electronics brand Mivi has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at E-City, Tukkuguda, Hyderabad, backed by an investment of ₹200 crore via Avishakaran Industries Pvt Ltd. The facility is set to scale up the company’s domestic production footprint across audio and consumer technology categories.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Minister of Information Technology, Government of Telangana; Anudeep Durishetty, IAS, Joint Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C), Government of Telangana; and K. Shashanka, IAS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC).
Capacity and Workforce Deployment
The newly opened facility has a monthly production capacity of 500,000 earbuds and 75,000 soundbars. According to the company, the site employs approximately 2,500 people, supporting regional manufacturing employment and contributing to the local supply chain ecosystem.
The expansion aligns with broader national manufacturing frameworks, including Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, aimed at reducing dependence on imports and establishing local assembly and production lines for high-volume consumer tech hardware.
Strategic Portfolio Expansion
Founded as an audio-focused brand a decade ago, Mivi has produced a range of personal and home audio products, including true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers, and soundbars. In recent years, the company has integrated in-house research and development, resulting in proprietary features such as 3D Stage and Mivi AI.
The operational launch of the plant comes alongside Mivi’s diversification into the broader mobile hardware market, marked by the recent introduction of the Mivi One 5G smartphone. Company leadership indicated that the facility will anchor future production as Mivi expands its product portfolio to compete with international consumer electronics brands in the domestic market.
Midhula Devabhaktuni, Co-founder Mivi, said:
The inauguration of this facility marks an important milestone as we complete ten years of building in India. We have always believed in developing products and capabilities here, with Indian consumers at the centre. As we enter our next phase of growth, we remain committed to investing in our own technology and strengthening our manufacturing presence in India.
Viswanadh Kandula, Co-founder, Mivi, said:
Over the past decade, we have focused on building Mivi’s products, technology and manufacturing capabilities in India. The inauguration of our Hyderabad facility is an important step in that journey and reflects our confidence in India’s potential as a hub for electronics manufacturing. As we expand into smartphones and other technology categories, we will continue investing in innovation and building products for Indian consumers.
