SuperGrip car mount review

As turn by turn navigation becomes a standard feature on more and more phones, there is a growing demand for accessories like car mounts to safely and securely attach a phone to the car.   The SuperGrip is one such mount which comes in a fairly small package but is surprisingly solid. Read on for the complete review.

While there are a lot of car mounts out there, the experience is generally a mixed bag in terms of surfaces it can be mounted on or the grip on the phone.

SuperGrip seems to have a great solution as by using a suction based technology, they can ensure a good grip on almost any surface. In our experience we were able to successfully attach it to both a car dashboard and the windscreen.

The design of the SuperGrip car mount is quite stylish consisting of two pieces held together by a flexible ball and socket joint. The bottom suction piece is responsible for keeping it attached to the surface of whatever you mount it to.

The grip holder extends like a claw and is designed to hold devices up to 5 inches in width so should work with most smartphones out there. A soft rubber material protects your gadgets from getting scratched. The ball and socket joint allows the grip holder to be rotated to suit your viewing angle though we would have liked a bit more flexibility.

We tested it out with an iPhone 4S, Nokia 808 and a Galaxy S3 and in all three cases, the mount retained a good grip both on the handset and also to the windscreen. Once mounted, it is easily possible to shift the device from portrait to landscape mode and vice-versa. Having used it over the course of almost 3 weeks, we’d definitely recommend the SuperGrip car mount to everyone looking for an affordable mount which actually works. The SuperGrip car mount is available for Rs. 1,550.
