iOS 6 scales apps to rumored iPhone 5 resolution

The latest beta for iOS 6 recently rolled out and it appears to include scaling for the long awaited next generation iPhone with a larger display. It is believed that the new iPhone will be getting a 640×1136 screen.

9to5Mac tweaked the iOS Simulator to use the rumored resolution. Instead of adding in blank spaces, iOS 6 creates five properly spaced rows. To ensure that the simulator doesn’t jump to an iPad style layout, users must specifically select 640×1136 as a custom resolution. All rumors point that a new iPhone will be announced on September 12th and will bring with it a larger 4″ screen. A new iPod Touch with a similar same screen can also be expected.
