Micromax A100 Android smartphone with 5-inch screen listed online for Rs. 9,999

Rumors have been going around for a while that Micromax is all set to launch its Galaxy Note phablet competitor. While we still don’t have an official reveal, Listings have gone up at popular online shopping portal HomeShop 18 where the A100 is said to be currently out of stock. From what we know, the smartphone will run on Android 4.0 ICS and is equipped with 512MB of RAM.

The screen while large at 5 inches will have a resolution of just 800×480 which means that graphic elements and text won’t be as crisp as on Samsung’s much higher priced device. We have reason to believe that the MediaTek MT6577 dual core 1GHz Cortex-A9 CPU will be running the show here along with the PowerVR SGX531 GPU.

According to HomeShop 18, the camera on the phone is 5MP and integrated storage will be 4GB. An expansion slot is provided to extend that fairly limited storage. The phone is provided with dual SIM cards and is of the dual standby variety.
