Here is a comparison between the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note phablet from Samsung with a 5.3-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) Super AMOLED display that launched in India last November. The Note 2 was launched in India this September and comes with a 5.5-inch (1,280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display.

The Note is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), while the Note had a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and came with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) at the launch, and later got an update to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in May. It got an update to Android 4.0.4 in August and would also get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update.
Both these phones have shiny plastic back. The camera and the flash are at the same place. Both have a slot for S Pen at the bottom.
The Note 2 has an improved and larger S Pen and a new Air View feature lets users to hover with the S Pen over an email, S Planner, image gallery, or video to preview the content without having to open it.
Both have 3.5 mm audio jacks at the top and a secondary microphone. The Galaxy Note had a 1GB RAM and 2,500mAh battery, while the Note 2 comes with a 2GB RAM and a powerful 3,100mAh battery.
