Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Camera in India. It was first unveiled at IFA in Berlin in August, and Samsung announced couple of months back that it would launch in India this month. Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Camera few weeks back. The 16 Megapixel camera has 21x Optical Zoom Lens with BSI CMOS sensor. It packs in a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super Clear Touch Display with 308 ppi and is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
It has Smart Pro feature with 15 modes (Beauty face, Best photo, Continuous shot, Best face, Landscape, Macro, Action freeze, Rich tone, Panorama, Waterfall, Silhouette, Sunset, Night, Fireworks, Light trace), Auto mode and a Expert mode (Auto+, Aperture Priority, Speed Priority, Camcorder and Manual) . It also has a pop-up Xenon flash at the top and can record videos at Full HD 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
It has 8GB of internal memory, 32GB of expandable memory with microSD. You can view contacts and send text messages, but can’t make a phone call. The connectivity features include 3G (HSPA+ 21Mbps), HDMI 1.4, WiFi a/b/g/n, WiFi HT40, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/GLONASS. It has a 1,650 mAh battery. Samsung also offers an additional 1650 mAh battery free with the Camera.
It has Photo Wizard app that has set of 35 photo editing tools, pre-loaded Instagram app for sharing images easily and Paper Artist app for unique photo editing. You can download more apps and games from the Google Play, just like you do on Android phones.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera is priced at Rs. 29,900. It comes with 1GB of free data per month from Airtel for 2 months.
