HCL today launched the ME Y3, the company’s latest entrant into the crowded Android tablet market alongside the ME U1 and ME Y3. We got some hands on time with the tablet and did a short photo gallery. The 7inch tablet has a resolution of 1024×600. Powered by a 1Ghz Cortex A9 and equipped with 1GB of RAM, the tablet might just prove to be a strong contender in the budget tablet segment.
There’s a 3.2 MP camera over at the back of the tablet and inbuilt 4G HSDPA connectivity. You also get support for WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0/
The tablet is of the dual SIM variety as can be seen above. A microSD card slot allows users to expand the built in 4GB of storage.
A mini HDMI port can be found at the side of the tablet. The battery is rated at 3100 mAH which should prove sufficient for 6-7 hours of usage. We’ll bring you a more conclusive report on this once we’re done with our review of the tablet.
Priced at Rs. 11,999 the HCL ME Y3 is available at retail outlets across the country and also at HCL’s own online store. With decent build quality, Dual SIM support , inbuilt 3G and surprisingly even an FM transmitter, the tablet just might carve out a niche for itself in the market. We’ll have more on the HCL ME Y3 in our review.
