The newly launched Samsung REX series of smart feature phones are Samsung’s new entries to the entry level smartphone market. With players like Micromax and Karbonn encroaching the feature phone territory with Android based models, the market is quite wide open. Nokia initially responded with their Asha series of device, and now it’s Samsung’s turn, with their REX 60, 70, 80 and 90. The REX 70 is a 3 inch device with smart Dual SIM functionality, and after we took a photo gallery, here is a hands on video of the Samsung REX 70

The Samsung REX 70 has a 3 inch capacitive QVGA display, with hot swap dual SIM functionality. The software is basically java, with its Touchwiz UI on top, including the bloop bloop sounds. There is a 2 megapixel camera on the back, and offers upto 13 hours talktime. There are a lot of preloaded applications including Facebook, Twitter, Activesync Push mail with contacts and calendar sync. Browsing is handled by Opera Mini. Samsung has also included 10 full version Gameloft games. The phone can support 13 regional languages including Tamil, Hindi, Punjabi etc. ChatOn, Samsung’s own chat service is also pre-installed on this device.
It also includes the Samsung Music store, and even movies too. Regarding the feel of the device, the chrome lining on the sides add a little bling to it and looks the best among the four REX device, otherwise the device feels just like the other REX devices. It is easy to hold and feels very light. Samsung has not revealed the price of this device yet, and the availability is still a mystery.
