Lava E-Tab XTRON Unboxing

Lava released the Etab-XTRON, their first Android tablet running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) earlier this month. Here we have the unboxing of the tablet. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core RockChip RK3066 Cortex A9 processor and Mali-400 MP GPU.

The box contents include the E-Tab XTRON tablet, a 2-pin charger, USB cable, USB OTG Cable (lets you connect an external dongle), normal set of earphones, user manual, warranty card and leaflets.

Here are the leaflets that comes with the tablet. Lava has tied up with several companies to offers several free packages with the tablet. These include, entertainment package worth Rs 2,000 free from Hungama.com, 1 month unlimited online movie package from BigFlix, free Vedic maths package, discounts worth Rs 4,000 from meritnation.com, a free career booster package and additional 20% discount from edukart.com.

It is priced at MRP of Rs. 6770, but you can get the tablet in the market for Rs. 6,499.

Specifications are mentioned at the back of the box. It packs a 3500 mAh battery.

The display is bright and has good viewing angles. The build quality is good. There are several pre-installed apps. You can download more apps from the Google Play Store.


There is a 2MP camera on the front.


The tablet runs on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

On the right side it has a power button, volume rocker, back button, micro USB slot and a microphone.


At the top there is a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro SD card slot. There is nothing at the bottom.


On the back there is a speaker at the top. There is a XTRON branding in the center and a small lava branding on the right corner. The tablet has a nice chrome finish but it is actually made of plastic.
