Nokia 5800i passes the FCC test: Looks very similar to 5800 but loses Wi-fi

After 5800 has turned out to be a major hit for Nokia, they are now readying for a small update to its first touch screen handset in the form of Nokia 5800i XpressMusic phone. After you hear the name, you may think that this is a upgrade over Nokia 5800 with some extra feature but sorry to disappoint, this model is not an upgrade over Nokia 5800 but in fact a downgrade over the present model, The Wi-fi connectivity has been removed from this particular model.

Another notable change in the phone is the camera. Though the phone still has 3.2 MP camera, the focus distance of Nokia 5800i camera has been put as 4.6mm as opposed to 3.7mm of Nokia 5800, according to the specs present in the FCC website. This change means either of the two things, a narrower field of view or a larger sensor behind the camera. But as GSM Arena points out, it is most probably the later one which means better camera results.

However, there is not much info out there yet and we would have to just wait for a while to get the full details about this phone.

What do you think about this new phone? Would you prefer a better image quality over Wi-Fi connectivity? Do Pass on your comments.
