Nokia Lumia 520 Hands On

We brought you the Nokia Lumia 520 photo gallery and having spent a bit more time with the handset, here’s our first hands on impressions of the phone. The Lumia 520 packs in 1Ghz Dual Core Qualcomm processor combined with 512MB RAM which delivers decent performance.

We didn’t face much if any lag at all though the limited amount of RAM means that you’ll be locked out of some of the high performance demanding applications on the Windows Phone app store.

Here’s a video hands on to give you a better idea about the device.

The screen itself is a 4inch panel with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is covered with 2D hardened glass and has the same supersensitive touch technology as in the Lumia 820 and 920. This means that you can use the phone with your gloves as well.

The phone is fairly light at just 124 grams but isn’t the slimmest devices around with a thickness of 9.9mm. The matte finish back feels great.

Over at the top is the 3.5mm audio jack for stereo audio playback. The phone is of course compatible with Nokia’s excellent Nokia Music and Mix Radio service. Inbuilt storage is 8GB but you can expand it via the micro SD card slot.

The rear facing camera shoots in 5MP resolution and video in up to 720p resolution.

Over on the right is the volume rocker, power key and camera key. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. A 1430 mAh battery rated for 9.6 hours of talktime. The phone will be available in India sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2013 at a suggested price point of 139 Euros.
