GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2013 Winners announced



The GSM Association has announced the winners for the 18th annual Global Mobile Awards at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The nominees for the Global Mobile Awards 2013 were announced earlier this month. Even though the Apple for iPhone 5 was a tough contender  in the best smartphone segment, the Samsung Galaxy S3 bagged the Best Smartphone of the Year award. Google Nexus 7 grabbed the Best Mobile Tablet of the year award beating the iPad and the iPad mini, and the Nokia Asha 305 won the best entry-level / feature phone award. Samsung won 5 awards including Best Mobile Infrastructure,Device Manufacturer of the Year, Best Smartphone,Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device, and Outstanding Overall Mobile Technology – The CTO’s choice.

From India Airtel’s myairtel application won an award in Best Application using Network APIs category. NewsHunt won an award for Best Mobile Publishing Product or Service.
