Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy Hands On

Alcatel launched a range of new devices at the Mobile World Congress and we went hands on with the Alcatel One Touch Scribe. Aimed at the phablet market but at a budget price segment, the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy is equipped with a 5inch WVGA display which isn’t particularly sharp to look at.
Under the hood is a 1.2 Ghz dual core processor. The 512MB of RAM cements the fact that the phone is thoroughly  a mid range affair.

The right side of the phone has just the volume rocker and SIM card slot. The Android running smartphone  is also available in a dual SIM configuration.

The top of the phone has a 3.5mm jack with a power key next to it. Inside you can find 4GB of storage for multimedia content. This can be further expanded via the microSD card slot.
Over at the back of the handset you can spot a 5MP camera which is a bit disappointing. A VGA front facing camera is also provided for video conferencing. Alcatel has created some apps to make use of the large screen via a capacitive pen. The phone will ship with a Scribe note app for taking notes and a movie maker application as well.We didn’t like the Scribe Easy much because of the flimsy plastic used and generic design.   The phone will be available for red, blue and yellow at an undisclosed price point.
