Google has introduced support for 6 Indic languages in Gmail on the feature phone browser. These languages include, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. This would be much useful for native language speakers with feature phones read emails and understand the functionality inside Gmail in their own languages. Google had introduced support for Indic languages for their apps. Google Translate for iPhone got support for 5 Indic languages back in 2011.
You can go to Gmail settings, select any of these new Indic languages as your default language for Gmail. All the features available in English lanuage might not be available in your own language.
