ZTE GEEK with Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ debuts at IDF

Over at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, ZTE has announced its first phone powered by the new 32nm Intel Atom Z2580 processor. The Clover Trail+ platform delivers performance that is twice as fast as the platform that it replaces in terms of computing power. The GPU core is three times faster and Intel has focussed on reducing power consumption.

“Our recent collaboration with Intel on the ZTE GEEK builds off of the success of the Grand Series and further enhances our competitiveness in the high-end smartphone market,” said ZTE EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division Mr. He Shiyou. “This partnership also will improve customer experiences by providing them with more choices in the market.”

The specifications of the phone include a 5 inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720. The phone runs on Android Jellybean and has 8GB of built in storage, 1GB of RAM. The front facing camera is 1 megapixel while an 8MP snapper can be seen at the back with an LED flash. The battery is a 2300 mAh unit.
