Asus launched the Fonepad in India yesterday at a price tag of Rs. 15999. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here are the benchmarks of the device. The Fonepad is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Lexington Z2420 single-core processor with Power VR SGX540 GPU. Xolo launched the X500 powered by this processor earlier this year. Quadrant Benchmark
The Fonepad managed to beat the Tab 2 310, but it is well behind the Nexus 7 and the E-Tab Xtron.
AnTuTu Benchmark v2.9
It easy beats all the other 7-inch tablets except the Xtron.
AnTuTu Benchmark v3.3
The tablet scores 6689 points in the AnTuTu 3.3 benchmark.
Vellamo 1.0
Here the Galaxy Tab 2 310 easily beats the Fonepad. Aquarium Canvas test crashed in the tablet, hence we ran the test omitting it.
Vellamo 2.0 HTML5
Vellamo 2.0 Metal
It scores 1318 points in the HTML5 web browser test and 443 points in the metal CPU subsystem performance. Aquarium Canvas test crashed even in the latest Vellamo 2.0, hence it has been omitted in the HTML5 test. Looks like the test has not been optimized in large screen tablet running the Intel Z2420 chip.
Linpack Single Thread
The Fonepad tops the linpack single-thread benchmark.
Linpack Multi-Thread
However, the Tegra 3-powered Nexus 7 beats the Fonepad by a greater margin. The Xtron is few points ahead of the Fonepad.
NenaMark 2
Even though the phone has a similar 7-inch display with a display resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, the PowerVR SGX540 GPU couldn’t push it more than 38.8fps in the NenaMark GPU benchmark.
GLBenchmark 2.5 Egypt HD (1080p) (On screen)
The Fonepad managed clocked 11 fps in the GLBenchmark Egypt, better than the Tab 2 310, but it couldn’t beat the Nexus 7 that has a GeForce GPU.
