Nokia have announced the 5230 handset as an entry level touchscreen smart-phone. The phone which looks identical to the 5800 XpressMusic has features which are also nearly identical to the 5800 Xpressmusic.
The features of the 5230 include:

- 3.2 inch Resistive Touchscreen, 360*640 Resolution
- 70MB Internal Memory, micro-SD Card Slot, 3.5mm Audio Jack
- GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, 3G, HSDPA, Bluetooth, micro-USB
- 2 Megapixel Camera with VGA 30Fps Video Recording
- GPS with A-GPS Support
- 1320mAH Battery, Black/White Colours
The main differences to the 5800 XpressMusic include the downgraded camera which lacks flash and Autofocus. The lack of Wi-Fi and no secondary camera.
Another important feature of the 5230 is the 33 hour music playback. The phone also has Xpress-On battery covers.The handset is set to launch in two packages:
- A standard package retailing at 149 Euros
- Comes With Music package allowing unlimited music downloads retailing at 259 Euros
- In India the price of the phone will be Rs.10000
