Gmail v2.3 for iPhone and iPad brings new inbox tabs and better notifications

Google announced a new update for Gmail app for Android, iPhone and iPad last week. The Gmail app version 4.5 for Android started rolling out for Android earlier this week, now the update is available for iPhone and iPad. The Gmail version 2.3 for the iPhone and iPad brings new Inbox with tabs with categories such as Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums, new notifications options that lets you customize notifications and more. Gmail for iOS was updated recently that let use open links from Gmail in Google apps such as Chrome, Google Maps or YouTube.

New features in Gmail 2.3 for iPhone and iPad

  •  The new inbox organizes email into five optional tabs: primary, social, promotions, updates and forums.
  • Option to set notification options for each account separately
