Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones today, at an event in New Delhi, India. Amongst the six, the Lenovo A706 is a mid range model with modest specs and a equally modest price. With a 4.5 inch FWGA 854×480 display, the A706 might be lacking when directly compared with the 5 inch 720p displays in competing phones of the same price range, but it makes up for it in having an IPS display. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad core processor, and if our assumptions are true, it is a slightly underclocked version of the Snapdragon 200 MSM8225Q with Adreno 203 graphics. Priced at Rs. 15,949, this is Lenovo’s play at the mid range.
Here are the full specifications of the Lenovo A706 –
- 4.5 inch 854×480 IPS TFT display
- 10.4mm thick, 137g weight
- Snapdragon 200 MSM8225Q 1 GHz, Adreno 203

Overall well rounded specs for the A706 but will it make its mark in an extremely crowded mid range smartphone market? We will find out soon enough, when the device is made available on the retail market starting this month.
