LG follows next in ranking. Who do you reckon follows in the 4th spot? Blackberry, Nokia or HTC? Well, its Huawei. The Chinese telecom company is the fourth largest smartphone maker in the world, by units !
Yet, why is it that you and I rarely see a Huawei phone in Indian stores, when shopping for the latest smartphone ? Why is it that the 4th biggest smartphone maker is not visible in one of world’s biggest smartphone market? Huawei hopes to change this brand image, soon. Starting this month, Huawei will begin introducing its star smartphones and tablets, in India. The Chinese phone maker has slotted a bunch of big launches in the next quarter, too.
First up is the Huawei Media Pad 10 Link that was launched in India recently. A 10.1 inch screen tablet priced at just Rupees 24,990/- . The Media Pad 10 runs on 1.2 GHz Quad Core Huawei Hi-Silicon Processor. Operating system is the Android 4.1.
Here’s a first hands on feel of the tablet.

The backside has a matt finish silver back cover , with the battery sealed inside. Rare camera is a 3MP fixed focus camera with no flash.
The tablet will come with a stylish cover, in the box. That works well, as a stand too.
The tablet might not be among the slimmest tablets available in the market. It has 9.9 mm thick body. However, the overall hardware is quite impressive. Made with good quality material and designed beautifully. The tablet weighs about 640 grams.
The essential slots include a USB slot on one spine.
Just above the USB slot is a 3.5 mm audio jack. The tablet boasts of dual speakers powered by Dolby Surround Sound.
Top side is where the sim card can be inserted. 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS / aGPS. There is a slot for a micro SD memory card too. The tablet comes with 1 GB RAM, 16GB Internal memory.
Volume rockers sit on the other spine.
Media Pad 10 runs on Android 4.1. It is fueled by a 6600 mAh Li-Ion Battery sealed inside. Huawei’s next big product will be the Ascend Mate phone expected to launch in the second week of June.
