Sony Ericsson released three new handsets simultaneously ushering in the new year with a running start.
The handsets are W760, W350 and Z555.
Sony Ericsson W760 – The Global Walkman
A feature packed handset that has a walkman (as its nickname suggests), with distinctive stereo speakers and latest games, including Need for Speed™ ProStreet.
The handset has tri-band HSDPA, enabling broadband speed downloads of the latest music and content wherever in the world it is used. A 3.2 megapixel camera with a built-in accelerometer that allows screen auto-rotation and Shake control, along with GPS that lets you search over 20 million points of interest around the globe and talks you to your destination every turn of the way as well as a GPS-supported fitness application called Tracker that can tell you how fast, for how long and how far you ran (or walked!), make this handset an incredible piece.
How is it a Global Walkman?
Not only can you listen to your music, you can store up to 950 tracks on the handset and use SensMe™ to pick the music and tracks that match your mood in an instant.
The Shake Control feature allows you to navigate through a playlist i.e. shuffle and skip through tracks, or adjust the volume, with just a shake of the phone.
The TrackID™ functionality allows you to identify any song you are listening to on the FM Radio or at a club. And with TrackID™ Charts, you can also review the most searched tracks in your country or anywhere in the world.
The Active Speaker MAS-100 serves a multiple purpose of protecting the handset as well as giving you a speaker to play your tunes louder than before. A FM radio antenna makes it easier to listen to your favourite channel.
The Sony Ericsson W760 will feature a relatively large 2.2″ display with QVGA resolution and will be capable of showing up to 262K colors. The phone will also have 40 MB of internal memory expandable through the Memory Stick Micro card slot. A 1GB memory card will be included in the retail package.
The handset will also have the intuitive Media User Interface that rotates images depending on how you’re holding the phone, so you can see everything you need at a glance.
Packed in the relatively small dimensions of 103 x 48 x 15 mm and weighting 103g the Sony Ericsson W760 will also feature Bluetooth with A2DP support.
Sony Ericsson W760 will be available in three color versions (Rocky Silver, Fancy Red and Intense Black) in selected markets from Q2 2008.
There are still no indications about the price of the handset yet.
