BlackBerry already said in the conference call during their Q1 earnings that they would release a phone running OS 7 later this year, even though they have moved to the BlackBerry 10. Now a BlackBerry 9720 running BlackBerry OS 7.1 has surfaced on a Thai website that reveals the complete device. The website says that the phone’s size is similar to the Bold 9900, but it is smaller than the Q10.
As seen on the images above, the phone has a QWERTY keyboard, rear camera with LED flash and a 1450 mAh JS1 battery.
The phone would also have a dedicated BBM key on the side. We still don’t have the specifications of the device such as memory, RAM and camera resolution. According to earlier leaks, the phone would come with a (480×360 pixels) display and the display size is not known yet. BlackBerry unveiled the Q5, a budget smartphone running on the latest BlackBerry 10 OS few months back.
