Amazon announces the new Kindle Fire HD with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, starts at $139

Amazon has also upgraded the Kindle Fire HD along with the a faster 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display with a slightly better resolution than last year’s Kindle Fire HD and runs on the new Fire OS 3.0 Mojito based on Android Jelly Bean. It comes with 1GB of RAM and comes in 8GB and 16GB vairants. It doesn’t have LTE support like the Kindle fire HDX tablets.

Last two Kindle Fire HD tablets were priced at $199 and Amazon has achieved $139 price point, which is cheaper than the Nexus 7 tablet.

The new Kindle Fire HD is priced at $139 and $139, respectively for the 8GB and 16GB variants. It is available for pre-order from Amazon in the US and would ship starting from October 2nd.
