Samsung announced their cross-platform messaging application ChatON two years back during October 2011. Earlier this year, in May, Samsung announced that their ChatON application had an user base of 50 Million and just four months later, they are now announcing that the user base has doubled since May and now a total of 100 Million users use Samsung’s cross-platform messaging application – ChatON.
One of the main things that contributed to the rise of ChatON as one of the popular messaging clients is that it is available for a wide range of devices – ranging from Samsung’s feature phones to the very premium Androids, Windows Phones and iPhones. One of the key features that distinguishes it from the other mobile messaging applications is that Samsung’s ChatON can be accessed from PC and this lets users chat to their friends directly from the PC.
According to Samsung, ChatON application has seen a steady growth in India, China and United States which are not doubt some of the biggest smartphone markets. ChatON application supports 63 languages and that is probably one of the biggest reasons for its success in India. Also, the use of ChatON is increasing in Europe and Middle East where features such as Ramadan Anicon have boosted its popularity.
