Facebook Home update brings photo from Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest or Flickr feed to your lockscreen

Facebook announced its Facebook Home launcher for Android in April. Facebook is already the homepage on the desktops of most people and with Facebook Home, it is trying to stamp its authority even in the smartphone segment. Facebook Home was launched as a lock-screen replacement application and it brings posts from your Facebook feed right to the lock-screen of your Android smartphone.

At launch, Mark Zuckerberg hinted that in the near future, Facebook Home application will be integrated with more apps so that the feed is diverse. Within six months of release, Facebook have now opened the doors of their Facebook Home app to other apps like Instagram, Pinterest, Flick and Tumblr. When photos from these services show up, you can like them just by double tapping(remember Instagram?). In addition to these features, Facebook have surprisingly left an option for you to disable feeds from Facebook and you can choose any among the other apps to get feeds from. To get the latest features and to be able to see feeds from the other apps, you must sign on to Facebook’s Android beta program. By letting feeds from other apps and services into their application, Facebook have taken a big step towards user experience on their platform. Do you want your lock-screen to show photos or just the time? What do you think of Facebook’s latest move?
