Nokia Lumia 1020 is finally on sale in India from the official Nokia Shop, as they promised last month. It was announced back in July and was launched in India last month. It went on pre-order in India for Rs. 49,999 last week. The Lumia 1020 is the first Windows Phone smartphone to feature a 41-megapixel camera sensor. It also has 6 lens optics similar to the Lumia 925 and also comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that was first introduced in the Lumia 920. The Lumia 1020 has Xenon flash to shoot better images in low lighting condition and also LED flash for video recording.
It has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) AMOLED capacitive touch screen ClearBlack display with Pure Motion HD+ technology, powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS with Amber update. It has a 1.2-megapixel HD front-facing camera with wide angle lens, 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It packs a 2000 mAh battery with Wireless charging supported via option Charging Cover.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 also comes with a Nokia WH-530 stereo headphone worth Rs. 2,999 for free as a promotional offer. It also comes with Rs. 1000 worth app voucher, 2GB of 3G data per month for 2 months for Vodafone users and 1 year of complementary handset insurance plan from New India Assurance.
Nokia already announced at the launch that they would sell the Camera Grip and Wireless Charging shell in India for Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 3,200 respectively. It is not clear when these accessories would be available in India.
[Update: Nokia has increased the price of the phone from Rs. 48,166 again to the pre-order price of Rs. 49,999. However some retailers such as Saholic is selling the device for as low as Rs. 47,222.]
