Kobo, popular for its eReaders has launched the Kobo Arc, an Android tablet along with range of eReaders in India. The Kobo Arc has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) touch screen IPS display at 215 ppi, powered by a 1.5 GHZ dual-core Ti OMAP processor and runs on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 1.3-megapixel HD front-facing camera and comes with Kobo eReading app and option to buy books from Kobo store. It also has Google Play Store to download apps and games. Amazon launched the Kindle Fire HD in India earlier this year, which got a price cut recently.

Free or discounted ebook offers will also be available with the purchase of Kobo devices or with the download of a Kobo app for a limited time. The Kobo Arc would be available in retail locations across India through its partnerships with Crossword, WHSmith and Croma.
