Samsung Galaxy Gear compatibility to come to more Galaxy devices

Back in IFA 2013, when Samsung announced their first smartwatch – Galaxy Gear, it was compatible only with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which was also unveiled at the same event. At the event, Samsung confirmed that Galaxy Gear will be compatible with more Samsung Galaxy devices in the near future and more than a month later, Samsung has released the list of devices that will be compatible with the Galaxy Gear.

Samsung flagship devices – Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will get the compatibility along with their Android 4.3 update. Samsung Galaxy S4 has already been treated with Android 4.3 JellyBean update and it is now compatible with Galaxy Gear. The other Samsung Galaxy devices that will receive Galaxy Gear compatibility are S4 Active, Galaxy S4 mini, Mega 6.3, Mega 5.8, and S4 Zoom. The later Galaxy devices will receive an update starting at the end of October.

With Galaxy Gear, the users will now be able to make and answer calls and view incoming messages and notifications with just a glance on their Galaxy Gear. To get more details about incoming messages, all the users need to do is to simply pick up their smart device and see the full content instantly courtesy of the Smart Relay feature. Using the Galaxy Gear’s 1.9 Megapixel camera,photos can be taken just by a single tap on the screen of Galaxy Gear.
